Uploading a cover photo

The Banner Photo section at the top of the editor lets you upload a cover image that appears as the hero banner on your home page.

To upload a photo, hover over the banner area and click Upload Photo (or Change Photo if you already have one). After selecting an image, a crop dialog will appear so you can frame your photo at a 16:9 aspect ratio before uploading.

Keep these guidelines in mind:

  • Recommended size: 1920 x 820 pixels
  • Max file size: 5MB
  • Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, or WebP
  • Images larger than 1MB are automatically compressed to keep your site fast

To remove an existing cover photo, hover over the banner and click the Remove button.

Partner names

The Partner Details section has two pairs of name fields.

  • Your Full Name and Partner’s Full Name — Enter the full legal or preferred full names for both partners. Each name must be at least 2 characters.
  • Your Preferred Name and Partner’s Preferred Name — These are the display names that appear on your wedding website. By default, the preferred name auto-fills with the first name from the corresponding full name. You can override it with any name you like, such as a nickname or shortened name.

Changes save automatically when you move to the next field, or you can click the Save button to save immediately.

Setting your wedding date

The Wedding Date field is a date picker within the partner details form. Select the date your wedding will take place.

There is a minimum date requirement: the wedding date must be at least 7 days from today. If you select a date sooner than that, a validation message will appear.

Wedding location

The Wedding Location section uses Google Places autocomplete to help you find your venue.

Start typing in the Full Address field and select a result from the dropdown suggestions. When you choose a location, the following happens automatically:

  • The City and Country fields are populated from the address (these fields are read-only)
  • The main wedding event’s venue is updated to match, including the venue name, address, and a Google Maps link
  • If the location has coordinates, a maps URL is generated for your guests

This sync means you only need to set your venue in one place. Updating the location here updates it across your wedding events as well.

Tips

  • Use high-quality landscape photos for the cover banner. The 16:9 crop works best with wide shots.
  • Preferred names are what guests see on your website. If you go by a name different from your legal first name, update the preferred name field.
  • Location changes propagate to your main wedding event. If you have multiple events at different venues, you can set those individually from the Events page.
  • All changes in the home page editor are saved automatically as you type, with a short debounce delay. You do not need to worry about losing your edits.
